Yay for crafting!

Today on Amazon

I don't think it was a good idea for Pierce to give me his password to his Amazon account...

This is what I've bought so far today:

1. My cousin, Kelly Nelson's book; The Keeper's Calling -  I read it before it was published and now I can't wait to read it again... it's THAT good!

2. 3 pack of Cadbury Mini Eggs (because all of the stores around me are sold out and Easter is fast approaching, which means, the eggs are even faster dwindling in numbers) - gotta get your food storage in order.

3. Stephanie Nielson's book... I tried to resist the urge to pre-order or even buy it, but you just can't stop a desire to read all-things NieNie.

This is just my amazon list from today. I fear we might be homeless soon.

At least we'll be homeless with two really great books and some yummy chocolate eggs.

Email Etiquette

I was about to start writing this post when I realized I had written it before and boy did I sound sassy. Whew! (Sorry for all you who commented apologizing, that's not what I was going for...)

I think when you have your own business, you tend to filter yourself a little more... or at least try because your husband makes you. :) And you know what? I think that's made me a blog-sissy. Seriously. I'm scared to blog about anything and everything for fear I will offend someone somehow.

Lame.

But I still do it because I'd rather be nice and thoughtful than mean.

Back to the reason for this post... Email Etiquette.

I've been emailing a very professional person as of late and with each response I get, I cringe.

Her name is Sara.

My name is Stacy.

In her last response, she called me 'Stacey' and I was VERY tempted to reply saying, 'Sarah' just for the fun of it.

But alas, I didn't.

Oh but I wanted to.

But I did make sure to sign my name once again as 'Stacy.' :)

Does this bother anyone else? Or just those that live with misspellings all of the time? What do you do? I'd really like to know... (And I'm not just asking these questions for comments... I really am curious)

Laundry Day

I absolutely love laundry day.

The smell.

Having clean clothes.

Hanging up Pierce's shirts near our window to air dry from the ocean breeze.

Yeah, I love living in LA.

The end.

Yogurt Melts

This is really embarrassing...

But I really, truly, most definitely love yogurt melts.

You know, the ones parents buy for their children? Yeah, those.

I don't remember who I was babysitting that I'll blame this on, but I had one bite and the rest was history.

The other day Pierce and I were at Target and I saw the baby food aisle and that there was a SALE! I think I made some sort of involuntary noise and then started to search for some yogurt melts. haha. I'm so sad, I know.

I think Strawberry is my favorite flavor so far. I haven't tried the Mixed Berry yet. I'll do that next week.

Too bad my children won't have any snacks left after momma's eaten them all!

It's not fair

The first time I saw this piece of art, I wanted it. I wanted it bad.

I finally ordered it last week from Lady Hue's Etsy shop here.

I love it.

Caitlin aka Lady Hue is an amazing artist. She and her husband Hum (he is in the band fictionist... hence the Hum) have a fun blog here.

I can't wait to frame this and put it up. Especially since we have a total of two things hanging on our walls in LA.

Yay for beautiful art!

One Color Wednesday: RED

Pierce works on the Gatorade account at Chiat Day. Every couple of months, the Gatorade team does One Color Wednesday - which basically means, you pick one color and every piece of your outfit must be that color. Pierce has done gray, khaki and now red. (I'll have to dig up the pictures from the other two).

There are a few restrictions to make it harder, you can't do all black or jean material - because those are easy.

Pierce really goes all out and this past week he went all RED! I loved it. Even down to the shoes. Oddly enough... he already had the pants. :)

The pose below is for my mom and dad:

Where's Pierce? I bet you can't find him!

What color do you think he should do next month?!?! I'm pulling for purple. :)

Bar Keepers Friend

I'm addicted. To a cleaning product. And the best part is, it's called Bar Keepers Friend. Bahaha!

Seriously though, this stuff is awesome!

A couple months ago I called my mom to ask what she used to clean her kitchen sink and what would help to get the scratches out from the porcelain. She told me Comet. YUCK. I even bought the lavender-smelling Comet. It didn't work.

Then, a few days later I was reading someone's blog and she mentioned hearing about this stuff and trying it. I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a go!

So, I went to my friendly Home Depot down the street (near where they are filming Star Trek 2... down.the.street.from.our.place. ***) and I bought the bottle that would soon become my best friend in the kitchen... and bathroom for that matter.

Seriously though, you've GOT to try it.

This morning I sat there scrubbing my sink for a good ten minutes before I thought, 'what am I doing? My best friend, is right under the sink!' So, I reached down, poured a little on, scrubbed for a few seconds and rinsed and voila! Perfection every time!

We also had a scratch on our porcelain sink in the bathroom and it took it right out! I've tried everything on that scratch. Everything. I was almost to the point of putting white-out on it! :)

So, to say I'm a convert of Bar Keepers Friend is an understatement.

Now my mom calls me with all her cleaning problems... oh how the tables have turned. jk, she doesn't really.

***Pierce will be writing about this happy event,
with pictures and links galore!

Plz. No.

Thank you Will Smith. I love you.

This is one thing that really irritates me about social media in general; Facebook, Twitter, TEXTING. Just because you CAN spell something shorter, doesn't mean you should.

Educated people should spell out their words.*

When people send me things with acronyms, abbreviations and misspellings galore, I get all yucky inside.

If you don't know how to spell something... look it up! AHA! Great idea! (We DO have the internet these days)

And please, please, next time you text or email or send me a message...

SPELL. IT. OUT.

*I am by no means saying I am perfect on this subject
OR that I have exceptional grammar (even if I do...)

Blue barstools

Pierce and I have been working on a few projects lately. I'm excited to post all the fun things we've been doing on here!

One of our said projects was repainting our barstools to match our old-now-new media center/cradenza (I don't know what to call it!). They are now a pretty grayish blue! I didn't touch these photos, they are straight out of my camera because I wanted you to see the true color! :)

As you recall from San Francisco, they used to be black.

I love the fun color, and it just brightens up our place that much more. They even have a surprise underneath... a different color! (I haven't finished the painting underneath, so be patient, one day).

Which you like better? Black or blue?!

I'm getting a new lens for my camera soon and when I do, I'll take pictures of our apartment and do another post.

P.s. HAPPY LEAP YEAR DAY!

New Music

Music is my favorite. It's a big part of who I am. Sometimes I can be in the worst mood and music brings me out of it.

I love to roll my windows down and turn up my music REALLY loud. These are some songs I've been doing this to lately.

Enjoy!

(some of these videos aren't videos but just one image while the song plays fyi)

Imagine Dragons: Demons (this one is my favorite - I introduced Pierce to this band [from Provo])

Imagine Dragons: Radioactive (this is Pierce's favorite)

Gotye: Somebody That I Used to Know (Can't.stop.listening.to.this)

Taylor Swift + The Civil Wars: Safe and Sound (so, I'm not a huge Taylor fan, but this is for the Hunger Games movies... awesome. Can't stop listening to this either)

FUN.: We Are Young (So, Pierce found them and started listening and I was like, "Is this the singer from The Format?" He looked it up, sure enough it was. My favorite Format song was On Your Porch)

Muse: Undisclosed Desires

They wouldn't let me embed this video... so you can watch it on YouTube:

You can now thank me for all the joy had whilst listening.

The end.

Our Bookshelf

The bookshelf is Pierce's domain.

Each time we get a new book or we haven't paid enough attention to our bookshelf and it gets utterly disorganized, Pierce takes all of the books down, cleans the shelves and rearranges them.

It's quite cute.

There is a place for everything and he is very specific about what goes where. I just don't even try.

Right now, there is a pile of books on the kitchen table because I don't know where to put them and don't want to mess up his groove.

Let's play I Spy now, shall we:

1. I spy SQUEAKY! (Ok, that one was easy)
2. I spy some lego mini figures.
3. I spy Pixar's The Incredibles Art Book
4. I spy The Ensign
5. I spy 'Music' and 'Creature,' that our friend David gave to us (he designs those books)
6. I spy my new favorite cookbook, 'What to Cook and How to Cook it' -- that has TONS of pictures, it's pretty awesome
7. I spy 'Where the Wild Things are'
8. I spy the 'Then and Now' books of every place we have lived in our lives:
-Dallas, Texas
-Salt Lake City, Utah (close enough)
-San Francisco, California
-St. Louis, Missouri (for him)
-Los Angeles, California
-Still trying to find a Chile one for me
9. I spy two pears... because as you all know... we are the perfect pair! :) Pun intended.
10. My extra large book of recipes that won't fit in any of my kitchen cabinets... (on top of the basket) Note to self: don't buy a book that doesn't fit anywhere.

Well, that was fun! Until next time!
